Ethereum is a public distributed open source computing platform based on Blockchain technology. One of its outstanding features is the execution of smart contracts, all contract terms will be executed automatically and online without the need of a third party, all information in the contract cannot be faked.

Blockchain Node, also known as a node, it can be physical devices on the blockchain network such as Laptop, PC, server, etc… and it composes the infrastructure for Blockchain to help transmit and store Blockchain data. Nodes follow the principle of P2P (peer to peer) network and every node is connected to each other, they always update and exchange the latest data. In node networks that do not have a centralized central server but are placed peer-to-peer around the world, nodes maintain consensus to verify and approve new information.

Basically Node's operation is to validate blocks, if a validator or miner adds a new block to the Blockchain then all nodes in the network will check if the block is valid based on the block's legitimacy through signatures and transactions to reject or approve that block. In case of approval, the Node will store that Block and the nodes will propagate the transaction history to other nodes to synchronize blockchain data across the system.

A Full Node is a node in a decentralized network and acts as a server to store Blockchain data, maintain consensus among nodes in the network, confirm or reject new blocks, and share data with others Lightweight node. Lightweight node is a special node as it does not store a copy of the ledger of Blockchain, it acts as a node for SPV (Simple Payment Verification) payment verification and relies on Full Node to query data for the purpose of communicating with the Blockchain.

Ethereum node is a physical device connected to the internet such as computers, phones, etc… used on the ethereum network platform, the nodes in the network are all connected and directly interact with each other around the world to create in a sustainable blockchain network, nodes act like a communication point in an Ethereum network that has many points to send information back and forth to validate transactions and store data about the state of the Blockchain.

Depending on the types of Blockchain consensus algorithms, there will be some specific requirements for the object that can run Node, but basically anyone can run Blockchain Node themselves. With Blockchains using the Delegated Proof of Stake consensus algorithm, only those with the largest Token value can run the node, and with the Proof of Authority consensus algorithm, to validate the chains requires you have reputation.

Geth is the most widely used Ethereum Client software of Ethereum besides Parity, this software helps developers to communicate with the Ethereum Blockchain network to mine, perform transactions, deploy smart contracts,… because it can establish a P2P communication channel with other clients.
